Oscar-winning star Renee Zellwegger earned her big break in Hollywood as Tom Cruise’s romantic partner in the 1996 film “Jerry Maguire.” Uttering the famous line, “You had me at hello…” Renee wowed not just her onscreen love interest but also the moviegoers who found her refreshing beauty unforgettable.
Renee had brunette hair, beautiful eyes, full lips, and an angelic face. It was no mystery her high school in Katy, Texas crowned her as their Homecoming Queen. She definitely didn’t need any cosmetic procedures back then.
As her Hollywood career picked up, Renee would star in the 2001 romantic flick “Bridget Jones’s Diary,” where she deliberately gained weight, increased her breast size and puffed up her face for the role of Bridget Jones. Her boobs became so large that some moviegoers questioned whether she had a boob job.
Over the years, Renee’s appearance has become the subject of plastic surgery speculations, wonders, and criticisms. With her face and image constantly featured in the media, fans have always wondered if the actress has had botox, eyelid surgery, or a facelift.
So has she ever any had beauty enhancements?
Let’s find out!
Before & After Photos
It’s hard not to notice the changes in Renee’s face and body after comparing photos before and after she became famous. Rumors suggested that she had work done to maintain her gorgeous appearance.
We’ll walk you through these changes in the comparisons below.
Does Renee Zellweger Have Breast Implants?
Renee’s earlier photos as a budding actress in the 1990s showed her with a flat chest. But years later, Renee’s boobs seemed to have gone from a 34 B to a D cup.
Her intended weight gain for “Bridget Jones” might have been a factor to her fuller breasts a few years into her Hollywood career. She also confirmed in some interviews that she had to wear padded bras and fake breasts for the movie as her character needed to look like an average 135-pound British woman.
But after “Bridget Jones” and the 2004 sequel came out, Renee’s boobs remained fuller and bigger than when she first arrived in Hollywood. Though she never admitted to a boob job, it might be fair to say that her breasts could only maintain its fullness in her 30s and 40s because of augmentation. After all, it’s not uncommon for women in Hollywood to get breast implants, especially with actresses who are known for both their looks and talents.
Has Renee Had Botox Injections?
It’s no mystery that Renee hardly had any wrinkles in her 20s but when her face remained wrinkle-free in her 30s, people speculated that she has been getting regular botox injections and face fillers.
The actress did fewer blockbuster movies and media appearances in her 40s, which made her less visible in the media. One day, however, she shocked fans when she finally graced a public event where she appeared to have a completely changed face.
Beauty and plastic surgery experts were in agreement that Renee’s new face indicated she had a lot of procedures done for years. She may have had botox around her brow area, which helped tighten her skin and other fillers so that she would look younger for the cameras.
Did She Get An Eye Surgery?
Renee appeared to have had eye surgery done on her usually heavy upper eyelids. The result made her eyes look bigger and wider. Gone were her squinty eyes that characterized her endearing look as the timid Dorothy on “Jerry Maguire.” Yes, who could forget the way she looks at Tom Cruise with those eyes.
Upon closer look, Renee might have also gotten blepharoplasty, which removed the extra skin on her inner eyelids. Her brows have also appeared to be positioned lower when compared to photos of her younger self.
Did Renee Have A Facelift?
Renee’s rounder cherub face in her young adult years appeared to have narrowed down, with her jawline more defined in her older years. She could have had chin implants as well so that her face’s transformation won’t look too masculine.
It does look like she had a browlift and there definitely are noticeable differences in the distance between her forehead, brows, and eyes compared to her photos in her 40s or earlier. This suggested she may have had a facelift and more botox injections.
Renee’s face wrinkles and crow’s feet, however, have become more evident in recent years. This might mean she’s scaling down on her plastic surgery procedures or has been getting just light treatments.

Renee’s Transformation
Early Days
When she was young in her teens, Renee was described as the best looking girl in her class. A cheerleader and a member of the drama club, she had the makings of a movie star.
Year 1994
Renee Zellwegger appeared in her first major Hollywood movie, the horror sequel “Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation.” She made wearing glasses look sexy and appealing, which complemented her baby face.
Year 1996
Renee graced the premiere of “Jerry Maguire” with little makeup and a simple girl-next-door hairstyle. Perhaps still reeling from the fact that she’s becoming a big deal in Hollywood, the actress faced photographers shyly with a scrunch face. In this photo, her lips seem fuller with possibly the help of lip fillers.
Year 2001
Renee dazzled in a yellow gown at the Oscar Awards for the film “Chicago.” She had quite a slimmer body shape then and a possible butt lift. It doesn’t look like she had a boob job around this time.
Year 2004
For the sequel to “Bridget Jones,” Renee not only gained weight but also changed her hair color to black hair. Red lipstick added a sensuality mouth and as a result, her face cheeks appeared fuller as well.

Year 2009
Here she attends “My One and Only” movie Premier at the Berlinale Palast in Berlin, Germany. In her late 30s, the changes on Renee’s face became more evident. More prominent cheeks suggested she may have had cheek implants. A narrow nose indicated that she could have also undergone a rhinoplasty during this period, while her lips have remained fuller with possibly consistent lip injections.
Year 2012
Here the American actress attends the Costume Institute Benefit Gala 2012 at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Signs of aging have slowly caught up with this Hollywood beauty but her forehead still remained wrinkle-free and it’s most likely because of botox.
Year 2014
Attending the ELLE’s 21st annual Women In Hollywood Awards, Renee’s new face shocked many of her fans because she was literally unrecognizable. Though she’s always denied that she’ll ever subject herself to any form of plastic surgeries, the actress quite possibly had an eye surgery done. Her shapeless eyebrows also made her face look more distorted.
Year 2016
The Hollywood star appeared on Jimmy Kimmel’s late night show looking a lot like her younger self. Her old face is back and she once again reminded viewers how hot she was with her wardrobe choice, which showed off her legs.
Year 2017
The actress walked the red carpet in Los Angeles for the “Same Kind of Different As Me” movie premiere with noticeable wrinkles on her forehead and fine lines around her eyes. She might have lessened her anti-aging treatments at this point.
Year 2018
Renee attended an event in Santa Monica with quite a puffy face. This photo suggested that she might have gone back to getting a facelift and botox injections yet again. Perhaps all these cosmetic treatments were to prepare her for the upcoming movie, Judy?

Conclusion
After going through a comparison of Renee’s ever-changing looks, it’s easy to conclude that the actress might’ve had a fair number of cosmetic surgeries. Despite her denials, plastic surgeons have always studied her facial and body features, and have concluded that she had, among other possibilities, an eye lift surgery, face work, and botox fillers.
We quite agree that the most obvious cosmetic changes done on Renee were to her eyes and face, although we’re not ruling out other procedures such as liposuction and breast augmentation.
The actress, however, wrote in a powerful essay in 2015 that it’s unfortunate people have made a big deal out of her appearance. But it’s an inevitable downside to being a famous star in Hollywood, especially when you’re talking about someone as beautiful as her.
Renee’s face change, while surprising to some of her fans, however, doesn’t erase the fact that she’s still a beauty, to begin with. The actress that made Bridget Jones famous will remain unforgettable, no matter how she looks.
